Mobile heavy equipment welding in Thunder Bay
When a bucket cracks or a boom mount lets go, moving the machine to a shop can cost more downtime than the repair itself. A mobile welder brings a truck-mounted welder/generator, cutting gear and grinders to where the machine is parked, whether that's a gravel pit, a road job or a yard in town.
We pass your request to an independent local welder who does field repairs on heavy equipment. They'll ask questions, look at photos, and quote the job themselves.
Typical heavy equipment repairs
- Cracked buckets, cutting edges and side cutters
- Hard-facing and build-up on wear surfaces
- Boom, stick and arm crack repair (the welder will check whether the manufacturer has a repair procedure)
- Pin boss and bushing bore build-up and line-boring (only some welders have line-boring gear, so ask)
- Thumb, coupler and attachment fabrication or repair
- Frame, step, guard and ROPS-adjacent repairs (ROPS structures often can't be field-welded, so check the manufacturer's rules)
Before the welder arrives
Clean the area, park the machine on stable ground with the attachment lowered, and have the make and model ready. Our field repair preparation guide walks through the steps.
