Mobile aluminum and stainless welding in Thunder Bay
Aluminum and stainless need different equipment and skills than mild steel. That usually means TIG or spool-gun MIG, the right shielding gas and a clean prep. Not every mobile welder takes this work in the field, so tell us the material and the part in your request.
Examples
- Aluminum boat and pontoon repairs (hull cracks, brackets, transoms)
- Aluminum trailer and dock repairs
- Stainless brackets, rails and food or processing equipment
- Tanks and tool boxes (fuel tanks need to be properly purged and made safe, and many welders won't do them in the field)
Shop or field?
Wind blows away shielding gas, and thin aluminum is sensitive to contamination. Some aluminum and stainless repairs get better results in a shop. The welder may recommend bringing the part in.
